Sally's family has farmed here for five generations. Her mother Dorothy decided that when her time came she would like to be buried on her own land - the land where she has spent her whole life. She wanted to share her vision with others keen to end their days surrounded by peace and nature.
That was in 2011, since when Dorothy and her family have created the natural burial ground as you see it now, with the lightest of touches, and with a great understanding and knowledge of the indigenous plant life and animals. The pond in particular, planted with wild plants from other ponds on the farm has created a wonderfully rich new habitat for wildlife. 
Sadly Dorothy Brock died on 20th January 2017 and she will take her place in the meadow on 3rd February 2017 - a truly remarkable woman whose vision for the land has become a reality. |
